The Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar served as the US. military's major cargo hauler during the Korean War and much of the 1950s. Here shown with Jet Assisted Take Off the C-119 made Fairchild a major manufacturer of military aircraft and Hagerstown the home of famous "Flying Boxcar".
The Fairchild PT -19 Primary Trainer designed in 1939 placed Fairchild as a major producer of aircraft for World War II. Well over 5000 were made up through 1943. Dick Henson is shown piloting an early version.
