NxTop is a distributed desktop virtualization suite of products that makes managing thousands of desktops and laptops as easy as managing one. The first product in the industry to combine centralized desktop management with distributed execution on a bare-metal (Type 1) client hypervisor, NxTop offers IT professionals and desktop consumers a single, unified product that extends the benefits and convenience of local desktop virtualization with the efficiency and control of central, policy-driven management; the best of both worlds. IT executives are beginning to see tremendous potential for lowering operational costs and reducing security risk through desktop virtualization. Yet adoption has been slow as IT teams struggle to justify the economics of large data center investments and accurately predict how many of their users can be addressed by server-based virtual desktops versus traditional PCs. By distributing the deployment model (while retaining central management) to take advantage of remote servers and deploying the hypervisor locally on the desktop, NxTop customers can reduce their operational costs in half without sacrificing control, mobility or end-user computing experience, even in bandwidth-constrained environments. Further, network traffic is greatly reduced because it now only needs to communicate changes. Backups are efficient and non-intrusive because only the user data is backed up, not the entire image.
