Patricia Jacobs (aka Pat J*), has accomplished what very few singers before her have achieved: The ability to attract fans and a faithful following before ever becoming a solo artist. She debuted into the music business as the soul stirring voice behind Greg O’Quin’s “I Told the Storm”, one of gospel music’s longest chart topping and emotionally moving songs. Although off the music scene for a while Trish has returned to her first love with a double portion of the gift God gave to her. She has recently recorded a new single with Greg Oquin and his “After the Storm” CD entitled “Breakthrough.” Breakthrough is continually climbing the billboards with expectations surpassing the outcome of her previous single. Trish’s impressive musical range is undeniably one of the most recognizable vocals in the music business as she has performed live at the Dove Awards, Stellar Awards, and Essence Music Awards. The journey of the music business has allowed her to work with artist/producer great J Moss and Paul D. Allen in the recording of “Something about that Name” on the CD project, Conversations again with Greg O’Quin and Joyful Noyze. As well she has shared the stage with other music artists such as Marvin Sapp, Vickie Winans, Shirley Caesar, Kim Burrell, Donald Lawrence, Tonex, Anointed, Fred Hammond, Karen Clark-Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Mr. Richard “Clean” White, Twinkie Clark, and the late Rev. James Moore, Betty Nelson, Dottie Peoples, Eryka Badu, Master P, Amy Grant, J Moss and others... With such a bright future ahead of her, Trish cannot help but be reminded of her days not too long ago as a security guard in Dallas, TX. Always asked the same question by people she encountered, “Are you that lady that sang the storm song?” says Trish, she remains humble (as is her personality), persistent to succeed in the business, a servant and a lover of God. Nonetheless, prayerful of where her music may take her or what doors it may continue to open Trish wants to be remembered as a humble servant. In her early days she remembers having sung for college presidents, school principals, and the national anthem before basketball and baseball games, administrators and various organizations, annual conferences of the COGIC and CME churches, funerals, weddings, Black History events, revivals, workshops, and every other event she was allowed to hum a tune. While touring the eastern, western, and southern United States with the Chorus of Southwestern Christian College (where she also attended school), she led four songs on their live recording “I Shall Not Be Moved”. Appreciative of all these events; she says the one she still cherishes most is being able to sing at her cousin NFL player, Kenoy Kennedy’s wedding. With a pivotal career in hand, Trish holds on to her humble beginnings. She was born into a musical family September 21, 1978 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Janice (Jacobs) Osborne and Roger Jacobs. She is the oldest to three brothers Roger, Kevin and Joseph.
