In previous years, telemedicine was hindered by narrow bandwidths and slow data transfer. As the Internet began taking the world by storm, high-speed connections became more and more prevalent.The founder of Viztek, Josip Cermin, is also president of one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. -- World One Technologies, Inc. Before establishing Viztek, Josip had been marketing telemedicine software systems through World One. He also attended RSNA (Radiological Society of North America) exhibits and was impacted by the great strides companies had taken in telemedicine and teleradiology. However, he envisioned a software package that could combine the best attributes of all these products, and perhaps a bit more.To create this revolutionary PACS, Mr. Cermin searched throughout the technical industry for programmers with the required skillsets. He realized this was an opportunity to capture our rapidly advancing software systems and direct them towards a very real need - merging the medical and information technology communities.
