(WCHV) Parents have received emails discussing a possible calendar change and a rumor that the 2011 school year may start on August 8th, which is more than two weeks earlier than this years starting date. The speculation is partially due to the new new 4-by-4 block scheduling where students take fewer classes each day, and along with the earlier start date, this could make it possible for school officials to wrap up the fall semester before Christmas break.(WCHV) The Initiative For Effective Nonprofits Announces The Opening Of The 2010 Application Process For Initiative Grants. The Wardle Family Foundation, the United Way-Thomas Jefferson Area and other community partners will provide up to four grants of $5,000 each. The notices of Intent to Apply are due on October 26th, and applications are due on November 22nd.
