Description
This episode of Brass, Reeds and Percussion features the "Repasz Band March" written in honor of the oldest continuously operating band in the United States: the Repasz Elks Band (founded in 1831 as the Williamsport Band of Williamsport, Pennsylvania). Several circus marches are also played.
Music from Academy Award winning composer Anthony DiLorenzo was featured for this episode. In 1967, Anthony DiLorenzo was born in Stoughton, Massachusettes. He received his bachelor ‘s degree in music from the Curtis Institute of Music. While a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, he worked with Leonard Bernstein, who nominated him for an Avery Fisher Career Grant. DiLorenzo is also an Emmy Award-winning composer of music for Benji: Off the Leash. He is a member of Proteus 7, a small wind band.
