From humble beginnings in the nineteenth century, Wakefield Co-operative Bank has remained a fixture on Wakefield's Main Street. In 1886, Thomas Skinner, Harry Foster, Everett Eaton, Fred Parker, E.E Emerson, S.J. Putney, William Tayler, Walter Elliot, Sylvanus Higgins, Horace Gowering, Henry Fisher, Fred Baker, George Phipps, Charles Walton, J.H. Day, James Garraty, Frank Lucas, Fitz Hodgkins, William Cade, Frank Cade, Henry Wenzel, George Braxton, C.A. Dean, F.M. Crosby, Willis Mason, William Jones joined with other local residents and formed the bank. We received the original charter from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on January 31, 1887
