Washington County Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company was founded in Fayetteville by a group of local farmers and community members in March of 1922 to provide an avenue for rural residents of northwest Arkansas to obtain fire insurance coverage. In 1924, Northwest Arkansas Farmers Mutual Tornado Insurance Company was formed to provide windstorm insurance coverage to those same residents. The two companies operated jointly until they were merged in 2009 under the Washington County Farmers Mutual Insurance banner, as it is known today.

Our company's purpose is to provide Arkansas residents with affordable and competitive insurance coverage products from a position of financial strength and stability that is unmatched in our segment of the market, while providing outstanding personal service.

We are located in Fayetteville, Arkansas and have provided Arkansas property owners with reliable, affordable insurance coverages since 1922. We have prided ourselves on personal service, financial strength and stability for over 90 years. We are a true mutual company, established by farmers to service the insurance needs of rural and “small-town” residents of northwest Arkansas.
