During her early career, she served as Chief, Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Washington, DC for four years before joining the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery at Georgetown full time. She was with Georgetown University for over 10 years prior to entering private practice. Dr. Picken received numerous awards while at Georgetown, including teaching awards, a Special Citation for Clinical Excellence, and recognition in the hospital’s Gallery of Service Excellence every year since it was instituted.
