Description

Wayne County High School opened its doors to students in the fall of 1921.  Students met the faculty in the combination store/dwelling which was used as a high school building during the first two years of the school's existence.  The building was located close to the present Wayne Community Center.  By the spring of 1925, the new building was completed, with 130 students enrolled.  Twelve students received diplomas at the first annual commencement in 1925.
