Eric Weden, principal of Weden Engineering, LLC, is a professional engineer with over 18 years of experience in civil engineering, land-use planning and project management. After earning his B.S. degree in civil engineering from Washington State University, he worked in the heavy-civil construction and engineering industry in California and Oregon managing large state and federal projects such as seismic retrofits for bridges and interstate highway improvements.

Especially today, understanding and navigating the development and permit approval process is critical to success. So is familiarity with the highly technical issues and state-of-the-art computer-based tools that are essential to modern civil engineering and planning. Our staff can take a project through planning and zoning, preliminary design, mapping/platting, and ultimately to the final design stage where the project is ready for bid and construction. Thereafter, we provide construction support through plan clarification, contractor and field surveyor coordination, and as-needed plan revision.

Our hands-on experience in Low Impact Development (LID) design and successful permitting under the new ordinance is unmatched. We continue to provide clarity and understanding of how the new regulations will affect builders and property owners in design, permitting, and associated costs.

Weden Engineering provides a wide range of services to support the needs of our government and municipal clients. We provide full-service design, construction management, and inspection services for roadway, utility, and essential public facilities capital improvement projects. We also regularly consult to the Community Development (Planning) division in complex long range land-use actions, subdivision process procedure, and development review of construction drawings.

Weden Engineering, LLC was established in 2003 by Eric J. Weden, P.E. after thirteen years of working in the civil engineering and construction industry throughout California and Oregon. Mr. Weden and his wife, Sara decided to move their business and young family back to the City of Ferndale - the community Eric was raised in. Since then, the firm has enjoyed continual growth and prosperity even in tough economic times due to our dedication to an unwavering vision.
