Description
You see, his parents always taught him to live his life according to the golden rule, and he took that advice to heart. But the lesson meant even more to Wess when he saw it in action. It happened when Wess was preparing to go to college. A bright student with a strong work ethic, Wess had graduated high school a year early. For the next year, despite his young age, he managed a pet shop while deciding what to do with his life. That’s when his mother made him an offer that not only set him on the right course in his life, but made a lasting impact on this impressionable teenager. “My mom cashed out all of her retirement funds to help send me to college,” Wess explains, today a proud graduate of Bob Jones University. “I could hardly believe it. I had to pay off my car before I went off to school, but what she did allowed me to go to college and focus on my education. It would have never happened without her sacrifice.” That’s not the only time his mother made a big impact in his life. For many years, she owned and operated an independent real estate firm in Atlanta named Toni Cason & Company Realty. She built that business based on the same exact words of wisdom she had taught her son – “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Wess modeled his own career around this principle, and for many years carved his own path to success in medical management. But when his mother passed away from leukemia in 1998, Wess felt compelled to take over the family business and pursue real estate in his mother’s memory by operating with the principles she always espoused. And that’s exactly what he did.
