Description

This ballistic protection system was initially developed to provide a cost savings to the government by eliminating the need to write two MWOs (one for subsystem installation with BPS and one without the overlay BPS installation). During the development of the composite lightweight ballistic protection system we realized that not only could we provide more protection to the crew but we could reduce the overall weight of the aircraft by replacing the floor boards and BPS overlay system with the WestWind LBPS floors.

WestWind manufacturing is capable of fabricating single rapid prototypes to full production quantities including dedicated work cells. We have the ability to custom design or build-to-print for both minimal quantities and mass production efforts.

June 25, 2013 — WestWind, DynCorp International (DI) and Sierra Nevada Corporation's (SNC) Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) today announced a strategic alliance to provide mission critical services to customers worldwide.

WestWind has extensive experience working with the military and OEM community providing system engineering, a full range of electrical and mechanical analysis, design and development, bench and vehicle test and integration, risk mitigation techniques, product improvements and reverse engineering of legacy components. Our experience includes systems ranging from operational combat proven weapon counter-measures and Integrated Vehicle Health Management Systems (IVHMS) to simple mounting bracket design and production, and maintenance and training equipment.

The first ten years of WestWind's history primarily encompasses rotary wing and fixed wing rapid response system integration and testing with supporting engineering and logistics documentation. In order to better serve our customers, WestWind built a world class back-shop capability that is consistently producing high quality products. Over the last decade, WestWind efforts have been focused on supporting the ground and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) community with the same level of success. WestWind is currently registered to ISO 9001:2008, AS9100 Rev C and AS9110 Rev A and maintains a robust and mature Quality Management System (QMS).
