James D. Wilson Mr. Wilson is a 1987 graduate of the University of Detroit School of Law. He has spent his entire legal career in the fields of insurance coverage and complex contractual litigation. He was, until recently, a Shareholder in the law firm of Plunkett & Cooney, P.C. Mr. Wilson ’s practice involves clients throughout the Midwest, and with litigation in a variety of states. In his representation of policyholders, Mr. Wilson strives to present his clients with an impartial evaluation of their potential insurance recovery, and if litigation is needed, to pursue that litigation effectively and efficiently. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Wilson worked as an insurance claim adjuster. In 2004, Mr. Wilson and Douglas Young founded WilsonYoung PLC . Since the formation of WilsonYoung PLC , Mr. Wilson ’s practice has involved representing insurance brokers and policyholders in disputes with insurance companies. Mr. Wilson has experience in obtaining insurance coverage for policyholders in connection with environmental and toxic tort liability, products liability, directors' and officers' liability, property losses, business interruption losses as well as many other types of insurance. WilsonYoung ’s clients include insurance agencies, reinsurance intermediaries, large and small corporations and individual policyholders. Mr. Wilson has been a presenter at numerous seminars on insurance and insurance coverage issues, as well a member of the American Bar Association ’s Complex Litigation Taskforce. He has also authored numerous articles regarding insurance coverage topics. Mr. Wilson also counsels policyholders on effective methods for the presentation of claims to maximize insurance recoveries for property damage and business interruption losses. Additionally, he consults with policyholders to protect their interests in liability claims that may be covered by insurance policies. return to top Douglas Young Mr. Young is a 1990 cum laude graduate of the Detroit College of Law. He has previously practiced law in the areas of insurance coverage and general liability defense with a large Detroit area law firm. In 1994, Mr. Young became Assistant Corporate Counsel for the Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Incorporated (NYSE symbol “MIG ”). From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Young also acted as Claims Counsel for the Star Insurance Company ’s medical and legal professional liability programs. As Claims Counsel, he supervised defense counsel in several states, including Michigan, on all lines of professional liability claims. In 1998, Mr. Young was appointed Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Meadowbrook. His duties then included supporting its five insurance agencies in insurance coverage disputes with various insurance carriers. He also was responsible for supervising the company ’s nationwide litigation and supporting its reinsurance and captive operations. In 2004, Mr. Young and James D. Wilson founded WilsonYoung PLC . Since the formation of WilsonYoung PLC , Mr. Young has practiced exclusively representing policyholders in disputes with insurance companies. Mr.
