Founded in 1995, the company sells and installs windows, siding, doors and other exterior products. Window World was founded in 1995 by Leon Whitworth. The office was a small roadside stand in Wilmington, NC. It didn’t look like much but, Leon had big plans for this company. He wasn’t going to be like everyone else in the home improvement business. He wasn’t going to do things like they had always been done. A slick salesman shows up at your house, gives a three hour presentation, starts his price at $1,000 or even $1,200 per window, creates bogus discounts, and tries to high pressure you into paying ridiculously high prices. The other end of the spectrum is the guy who has cheap prices along with an inferior product that won’t last very long.
