Windsmith Design provides landscape design for clients with a range of needs and objectives. The core services that the company provides are: Consultation: Address a simple design issue- a new planting plan, the placement of art in the landscape, or add a Japanese stone group to provide focus for the garden with. Thumbnail sketches can be provided within the time-limits of this consultation to provide you with the information you need to carry the project forward. Partial Site Design: Remove an unused lawn and create a garden, improve an entry path, create a new patio or replace an old one. We will not alter major features of the site, such as grading and drainage. These projects typically require three or more meetings, and accurate site measurements will be necessary. Full Site Design: Full site design invites us to think about all of the possibilities. Starting with a professionally produced site map, we consider different scenarios and work to maximize the impact of the project within the scope and the budget. A full-site design will typically require two months or more to complete. Construction Oversight: During construction a variety of issues may arise that may require changes to the original plan, or new possibilities may emerge or be suggested by your contractor. Construction oversight can range from being available on an occasional basis to visit the site and review the project, to providing input and feedback via regular progress checks. Focal Art, Custom Fabrication: Many Windsmith gardens incorporate custom features, ranging from Japanese boulder groups, to meditation arbors, to stone water basins, to metal art. With over 13 years of professional construction experience, Windsmith can provide construction or fabrication for these focal points in your garden. Mark can perform fine garden carpentry, carve stone, move and place boulders, or work with metal fabricators to bring your vision to life. Focal art can be designed and created as an 'a-la-carte' piece to be added to an existing landscape, or can be incorporated into a comprehensive design for a garden area or for the whole site.
