Fast forward to 2009 when we opened our second location. Located in the South Shore area we are proud to have had the opportunity to expand our business. We are now able to offer our complete machine shop services to another area of Chicago as well as northwest Indiana. Our Stony Island location offers the same services as our 30th Street location. In addition, this newer location also has engine parts readily available as we are an ENGINETECH parts distributor. We are family owned and operated and we are committed to producing a high quality product at competitive prices. Specializing in rebuilding engines for over 30 years allows us to give our customers a quality product. We can rebuild a complete engine for our customers which is an engine rebuilt from the intake manifold to the oil pan. Or are you interested in only a long block? A long block engine is rebuilt from cylinder heads to engine block (no tin parts included). Or maybe a short block engine which is rebuilt with everything except cylinder heads. We can supply new parts or remanufactured parts when rebuilding the engine. Either way the engines are assembled by knowledgeable employees. Windy City Engineering Inc. has been doing business on the south side of Chicago since it was founded in 1974. Our first location was in a warehouse located at 3001 S. Broad Street. Here we started out by rebuilding cylinder heads and doing light block work. As our business grew it was time for a bigger location in order to better serve our customers. In 1978 our current location on 30th Street became our new home. Windy City Engineering was able to remove and install engines at this time in order to be of full service to our customers. The engine department grew and we acquired our first crankshaft grinding machine. After many years, it was time to stop working on the actual cars. Windy City Engineering became a company that strictly worked on cylinder heads or engines, no removal or installation was done. The demand for our rebuilt engines became so great that it was time to specialize in this line of work. Our employees were able to become ASE certified and were extensively trained and cross-trained on all machines throughout the rebuilding process. This enabled us to provide a superior product.
