Description
LEARN TO WET FELT & NEEDLE FELT- ALL IN ONE DAY!Felt is wonderful stuff- it’s fabric or object made without spinning, yarn, weaving, knitting, crocheting….the fiber evolves into the finished piece without an intermediate steps! During this beginner workshop we’ll spend the morning making wet felt and the afternoon doing dry (needle) felting. You’ll get to make a flat piece and then a ball or dish- then in the afternoon you can embellish it- and make an animal, vegetable…whatever your creativity brings forth. And a delicious farm lunch will serve as intermission between our efforts. We’ll begin at 9:30 and go until 4:30. The workshop fee of $110 includes lunch and all materials. Jill Horton-Lyons has been playing with wet felt for many years & needle felting for two (when she’s not tending to animals). Some of the sources of our raw materials (ie, sheep & angora rabbits) will also be available for visits. To register call the farm at 413-548-3940 or download a registration form from our website www.winterberryfarm.org. Winterberry Farm is a small family teaching farm. We raise a lot of our own food and we offer very small programs for families, for kids and for adults; we provide a place where people of different faiths—and people seeking faith—can reflect upon and share their call to care for the earth.
