When the charming town of Winters was founded in 1875, it claimed a special place in California’s history as the Sacramento Valley’s commercial center for agriculture and passenger rail service. Over the years, Winters has retained its original historic and rural charm, offering visitors a glimpse of the past while enjoying a variety of modern amenities. A walk down the National Historic Main Street is a walk through history, with many architectural treasures now occupied by restaurants, shops and businesses. School is out and summer is here! The weather has been very cooperative for an evening stroll. Take advantage of the great weather and make your way to downtown. There is always great food, great wine and live music. Don’t forget, Main Street Cellars is hosting their “Biggest Bang for your Buck” Bocce Tournament on Saturday, June 28. This tournament will raise money for the Winters Fire- works Fund. The cost is $30 per team and there will be burgers and beer for purchase and some great raffle prizes to win. Space is limited.
