RAPTORCAM VIDEO SYSTEM / MIKE MAS Since I have been involved with video systems in the past, I have always kept my eye on their development. Lately, video systems have become much more affordable. So much more affordable, that they are now easily within reach of every modeler. In fact, a complete video system can be purchased for only $299, less than some heading hold gyros. When I went looking for a system for this review, I noticed that WirelessVideoCameras.com had a complete hobby system (RCTV20) for $299. WirelessVideoCameras.com, is an Internet based company that has been in the business for 14 years now. Owner, Mr. Monte Salot, is actively involved with the product, and provides technical help should you need it. The RCTV20 Airborne System includes; a color camera, miniature transmitter on 2.4 GHz w/an omni antenna, and an eight-cell cartridge for dry cells. On the ground, the system comes with a 5" B&W monitor that can be powered by a 120-volt source, or an included cable to run off your 12-volt car battery, or a gel cell. The receiver and antenna are built-in to the monitor. Mounted on top of the monitor is a directional antenna, which rotates 270 degrees and folds up and down, so you could essentially aim it at the aircraft if needed. Model HLF11 & HAR01 with BWRXTV Receiver/TV Monte, I just wanted to take a little time out to tell you what you already know: your products work great! I own a video production business and we shoot aerial video from a R/C helicopter platform, so we need absolute bullet proof equipment. Well, after using some other brand transmitters I quickly found the weak link in my aerial system. I was getting constant flickering and signal loss to the point that I was giving my camera operator a headache. That's where Wireless Video Cameras came into play. After switching to your system, I don't even think about the transmitter anymore, it just works! The signal is perfect and I'm not sure what the range is, but it's definitely further than I need. Another huge advantage: light weight! The transmitter only weighs 4.7 ounces! This is a major advantage on a R/C helicopter. I use the black and white monitor with the built in receiver, so setup is very fast. This is very important when you're jumping from location to location. I ordered a wireless video transmission system from you (AAR14-3 PAL / Omni Mag-Mount), which you delivered to Europe within less than a week. The system came with a well understandable manual and the cables are labeled absolutely perfectly. Unfortunately, we used a transformer which did not probably produce the requested voltage with the consequences that one part of the system failed. You helped us to find the problem on telephone and by email and identified it correctly at first try. Then you replaced within 24 hours the defective item free of charge. This is truly amazing and really great customer service.
