Arlyn G. Wiesman, 58, of 3306 S. 17th St., died unexpectedly at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center on Friday, August 20, 2010. Arlyn was born April 22, 1952, in Marshfield, WI., son of Herman and Marian (Koehler) Wiesman. He attended Washington Elementary School, Purdy Jr. High School, and Marshfield Senior High School. He graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Technology Education from UW-Stout in 1974. Arlyn married his high school sweetheart, Katheryn Breden on August 10, 1974 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. From 1974 to 1981, Arlyn worked with students of the Sheboygan Area School District, teaching drafting at South High School and coaching the girls varsity tennis team . After teaching, he was employed by Mayline Company,from 1982 to 1990, as a design engineer. He was the "W" in a computer furniture business, EMW, Incorporated, from 1990 to 1994. He worked as a designer for Kitchens by Richardson from 1994 to 1996, self-employed from 1997-1998, and recently held the position of Manager of Group Maintenance and Safety for Destination Kohler from 1998 to present. He loved the challenges of work and the education it provided but he felt the relationships formed from his work were the most valuable. Arlyn was also a very active member in the Sheboygan community. Co-founding Boy Scouts of America Troop 872 in 1988, and serving as Scoutmaster from 1993 to 2008. Arlyn's service and commitment to the BSA and Troop 872 was recognized by receiving the Scoutmaster Award of Merit in 2006. Under his leadership, 23 scouts earned their Eagle Scout Rank. His proudest scouting moments were awarding the Eagle Award to both his sons. He was also Brotherhood member of Order of the Arrow. His love for the game of baseball grew from pick-up games behind his childhood home, which led to him playing 3rd base and pitcher in high school. He carried his love of the game throughout his life. Arlyn enjoyed coaching and mentoring all his children as they played baseball and softball through grade school, high school and college. He coached a Diamonds team for several years, where his daughter was the only girl player in the league. He was the Diamond Rep on the Sheboygan A's Board, as well as being a board member of the A's. He wa sa proud member of the Three Amigos Grounds Crew and spent many hours improving the playing field conditions. Always willing to lend a hand, Arlyn was especially proud of the progress made with the Wildwood Rally and Military Night. In his free time, throughout his life, he enjoyed playing golf with his brother, family members and friends. He was a die-hard Packer and Brewer fan. Arlyn enjoyed maintaining his children's vehicles, wood working and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his wife Katheryn of 36 years, Arlyn is survived by four children, Eric of Sheboygan, WI.; Julia (Benjamin) Sommerfeldt of Sheboygan; Michael (Marguerite Schuld) of De Pere, WI.; Emily of Sheboygan; two brothers, David of Woodstock, IL; and Kenneth (Friend Tari Howard) of Mosinee, WI.
