Click Here . “Keeping Healthy in Today’s Economy” -a free brochure has been developed by the Township of Hanover (Hanover, Harding and Morris Townships) Health Department for its residents. We realize that the uncertain economy is leaving people who have never had to seek assistance in a position that is unfamiliar and frustrating. The listing of resources in this brochure may be helpful as a starting point in seeking assistance. Eligibility and benefits will vary according to income and family size. Copies of the brochure are available at the Health Department, the General Office and the Whippanong Library In addition to the services listed, your Local Health Department provides free or low cost screening clinics and immunizations. For further information on the brochure and/or screening clinics and immunizations, please call the Health Department at 973-515-6667. Child Health Services Available: The Township of Hanover Health Department will provide Child Health Conference services to eligible residents. This service consists of vaccinations and periodic “well child” examinations by a physician. This service is available to children birth – 18 of age. To qualify you must be a resident of Hanover Township, have no Health Insurance or have Health Insurance that does not cover vaccinations and/ or well child visits. This service is free of charge. Assistance to apply for NJ Family Care is available Support Group Available for Spousal Caregivers at Chilton Memorial Hospital For those who are taking care of a chronically ill or disabled spouse, the Social Services Department at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains understands that your situation is a challenging one. That’s why it offers a Well Spouse Support Group on the second Monday of each month, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., at the Collins Pavilion (located adjacent to the hospital). The Well Spouse Support Group provides encouragement in dealing with the difficult issues that caregivers face. It offers a supportive environment with others who share similar circumstances. Well Spouse is a national, not for profit membership organization which gives support to wives, husbands, and partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled.
