Wofford College was founded in 1854 with a bequest of $100,000 from the Rev. Benjamin Wofford. Still located on its original campus in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Wofford College has become nationally known for the strength of its academic programs, outstanding faculty, and commitment to providing its students a holistic liberal arts education.

2014-06-20 SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three new members have been elected to the Wofford College Board of Trustees while five others have been re-elected to four-year terms. The appointments were made at the Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church of South Carolina held in Florence, S.C., June 1-4. The new trustees, elected to four-year terms, are Ashley Richardson Allen of Charlotte, N.C, community volunteer and minority owner of the Carolina Panthers; Christopher A.P. Carpenter ’90 of Atlanta, Ga., partner with the Garrett McNatt Hennessey Carpenter 360 law firm; and Wendi M.
