Stanford University’s d.school, founded in 2005, is a center for innovation, design thinking, collaboration and solutions to real-world issues by Stanford students. In 2013, as part of learning from innovative Bay Area manufacturing companies, several mechanical engineering graduate students in the d.school’s ME219: “Magic of Materials” class visited Woodtech headquarters. The students assessed Woodtech’s customer service, engineering capabilities and production techniques.

Woodtech researches sources of wood and materials before committing to any project. We provide samples for approval. Our team educates clients by explaining materials, methods and outcomes. Clients are invited to tour our plant and meet our 95 dedicated team members.

At its state-of-the-art production plant in Oakland, California, Woodtech is one of the few furniture manufacturers to predominantly use Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®)-certified wood which originates from sources that are sustainable and renewed. Woodtech has earned numerous industry accolades, including being named "Best Diverse Supplier of the Year" in 2011 by global giant Cisco Systems.
