Description
Woodson Incorporated was initially built on the ability to plant trees on any terrain. For over 20 years we have provided planting services to private, government and industrial landowners. Since 1980, Woodson Incorporated has planted over 25 million trees for its clients. Our experience in planting allows us to plan for landowners the species needed for quality survival and production and to minimize cost while maximizing growth based on site location and soils. Before planting we check for any government supplement plans that may be of assistance for cost sharing. Planting techniques have become as modern as row crop planting. Our machine planters have been modified by experience to reduce seedling handling and impact from the machines. We monitor planting and seedlings throughout the process to ensure quality seedlings are put in the ground. Whether bedding and planting, fertilizing and planting, or just planting alone, we can fulfill your tree planting needs.
Safe, on-time delivery of our services is the Woodson Advantage that we dedicate to each of our customers. Our personnel are armed with cutting edge technology. Each have numerous years of experience in challenging tasks and are well trained in environmental issues as well as public relations. In today's business climate, all of these are extremely important. Our mission statement is the Golden Rule; we will treat others the way we want to be treated. Woodson Incorporated is committed to safety and recognizes the need to comply with regulations governing the industries in which we work. Maintaining a safe and productive work environment is a key goal of our organization. From problem analysis, job design, personnel and equipment scheduling and deployment until job completion, Woodson can take care of complex tasks. From an individual tree to vast acres of timberland and rights of ways, we can assist you and/or your organization.
As the need for a geographical information system (GIS) expanded to natural resources, we have met this need for our customers. Using GPS data collectors and spatial analysis we can incorporate mapping layers such as ownership boundaries, lakes and rivers, and right-of-ways along with the information related to those layers. For example, we can map right-of-way utility poles and attach information such as pole type and condition, distance from vegetation, photographs and any other information needed. We also use this technology for timber inventory, herbicide application, wetlands delineation and almost any type of mapping and data collection imaginable. Our staff has expert training and numerous years of experience with Trimble GPS equipment, Arcview, Arc Info mapping and data software. We provide our staff with up-to-date training so that we can produce quality GIS information.
At Woodson Incorporated we not only provide the best land and timber management for our clients, we provide excellent wildlife habitat management as well. Aside from forest products, timberland owners depend on their forest for good wildlife production. In many cases bottomland hardwood areas are beneficial for both timber production and recreational income. We specialize in selective thinning and planting of genetically improved seedlings to promote optimal acorn production for wildlife food. All logging sets, roads, and large openings are seeded following any harvesting activities to produce vegetation which benefits deer herds. Woodson Inc. can also provide on-site mulching, tree planting, and tree management for recreational facilities such as parks and golf courses. Landowners take pride in their land and their wildlife and we promote both.
Woodson Incorporated can provide employees to lead crews using pen based computers and line maps to locations that need to be restored. Woodson can patrol lines by helicopter, Air Boats, UTVs and foot to assess and prioritize damage. Woodson uses its hazard tree and initial clearing crews to cut leaning and damaged trees along transmission lines. Our dozers can clear existing roads and create new ones. We provide logistics for equipment and hardware transportation, fuel and storage delivery via truck and helicopter, food, amphibious equipment and airboats during storm response. We also provide traffic control and equipment repair for construction crews. Woodson crews can clean up damages behind line crews removing old structures, foundations, and reclaiming old wire and metal structures which can be sold with the proceeds being returned to the electric company.
