We provide full vertical transportation (VT) consulting services covering new system design, equipment evaluations, and modernization planning. We also provide engineering services for special lifts, product engineering assistance, and select design reviews and failure analyses. Also see Experience and Processes .

Special designs have increased, and vary greatly, likely because manufacturers are focusing more on standard products. Examples are pre-engineering services to "jump start" interest in a special design, and design reviews. Our clients have also included the product engineering departments of major elevator manufacturers, while we only engage in such roles on a non-commerical basis.

Prior to co-founding Barker Mohandas, Paliath Mohandas led and developed, over a long period of time, all Otis operations in Southeast Asia, where he was responsible for 2,000+ employees and many of the world’s largest and tallest projects. One such project was the world’s then-largest elevator contract, for the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur that he led from start to finish. Others include the UOB, Treasury Building, and Republic Plaza projects in Singapore.
