Description

Families of youth in crisis may need extra support to provide a safe and stable environment for their teenagers. Through Project SAFE , we provide clinical phone consultations to families with youth at risk of running away. During a structured 90-minute phone call (and a 30-minute follow-up call), parents work on empathizing with their child and creating an action plan for addressing the specific situation at home. Parents in King County can call 1 (800) 99-VOICE and ask to make a Project SAFE appointment. Learn more .

The Detention Case Manager is responsible for providing case management services to youth involved in the juvenile detention system. Primary responsibilities include: outreach and engagement, risk assessment, safety planning, harm reduction strategies, educational referrals, emotional support, legal advocacy, information and referrals, and guidance in navigating complex systems and institutions. The DCM is also expected to develop relationships with families, as appropriate, and work to support a healthy family system.

Your donation ensures that today's youth know that, and that YouthCare can continue to provide the help they need . It is an investment in the future of each young person we serve. There are many ways to provide material support to this mission — along with other ways to get involved .

YouthCare's housing programs offer much more than a place to call home. For one thing, they link up with our own education and employment programs, while providing a variety of other services. Most important, they're staffed by people who understand what you've gone through, and who will be there to help —as you imagine and move forward into the future you want to create.

The GED program at the James W. Ray Orion Center is part of YouthCare’s mission to build confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth, by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training. The program serves homeless youth who are pursuing their GED, as well as youth who have obtained their GED and are transitioning into post-secondary educational opportunities.
