Description
Zolo Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1999, creating a world-class company focused on delivering unique laser-based, multiplexed combustion monitoring systems. Zolo Technologies leverages 15 years of research at Stanford University to develop unique instrumentation that utilize tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) to simultaneously measure multiple constituents in ultra-harsh combustion environments.
The Zolo SCAN is designed for low maintenance and to operate in ultra-harsh environments. The critical electronic components, such as lasers, are “tele-com grade” and are designed for over 10 years of life. Mechanical components, such as the port rodder and associated linkages (if applicable with the Zolo BOSS ), are also designed for the harsh environment but will exhibit normal wear over time and can be easily replaced or repaired if necessary while the furnace is operating.
Optimal glass furnace operation requires controlling multiple burners to provide a specified temperature profile in the melting furnace, while minimizing excess O2 to ensure optimal efficiency. Because unspent fuel can cause defects in the glass, high end glass manufacturers also need to ensure that attempts to minimize excess O 2 do not result in incomplete combustion. Temperatures inside glass furnaces are exceptionally high, so temperature monitoring is typically limited to thermocouples located in the furnace crown.
Ken joined Zolo Technologies in January, 2013. Ken has more than 25 years of experience in technical sales, business development and product commercialization. He has worked extensively within the metals, chemicals and capital equipment industries. Zolo is Ken’s third early stage technology company. He headed up sales and business development for an advanced materials company and prior to that led the sales organization for a high tech start up hydrogen producing company which resulted in a successful sale.
Zolo Technologies is ISO 9001 certified and designs, develops, manufactures, installs and services all of our products.
