Description

The Alliance is dedicated to publishing the best and most comprehensive professional literature for and about museums. Our primary goal is to help all museums, and their professional and volunteer staffs, achieve the highest level of excellence in serving their communities and the public at large.

Founded in 1906, the American Alliance of Museums (the Alliance) is the largest cultural organization representing the museum industry. We serve over 21,000 members, including museum professionals, trustees, independent professionals and the full range of museums--art, history, science, natural history, military, maritime and children's museums as well as aquariums, zoos, botanical gardens and historic sites. Our office is located just two blocks from the White House in downtown Washington DC, across from the McPherson Square Metro Station. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization.

For over 60 years SITES has been bringing the Smithsonian to communities around the country. As we look to the future, we want to hear from you about our program. What works? How can we help you maximize your experience with SITES? How can we assist in meeting your mission? All this, and more.

Upon request, we provide site visitors with access to unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password) that we maintain about them and contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about them. Consumers can access this information by contacting us through e-mail, telephone or written correspondence (see contact information above).
