Description
Specializing in small cap equity and market-neutral hedge fund strategies, the firm was founded on the belief that its thoughtful and disciplined investment process can produce superior investment returns for its clients. Mindful of risk and with a diversified portfolio of stocks, we seek to add value primarily through stock selection. Since inception of the firm in 1999, we have maintained a consistent thematic basis for stock selection while pursuing innovation at the detail level in an effort to stay ahead of our competitors. Our three main investment models are fundamentally-based, quantitatively implemented tools evaluating financial quality, earnings improvement, and relative valuation. We are committed to identifying capacity constraints and have a proven record of closing strategies to new capital. FOUNDING PARTNERS John C. Bogle, Jr. Keith D. Hartt Lisa A. LaFrance Britt S. Bardinelli President of Bogle Investment Management, L.P. Prior to founding the firm in 1999, John was a Managing Director of Numeric Investors, L.P., a quantitative investment management firm. His responsibilities there included portfolio management, trading, risk control, and product development for both long only and long/short portfolios. He also performed research on myriad stock selection models, trading strategies designed to minimize slippage from investment process, and tax efficient investment strategies. John created and managed Numeric’s mutual fund product line, performed marketing and client service, and contributed to the general management of the business. Prior to joining Numeric in 1990, John was a Vice President at State Street Global Advisors. Most recently he served as a portfolio manager, responsible for managing quantitative portfolios and developing quantitative stock selection models. While at State Street, John developed models using earnings estimate and valuation techniques. He also conceived, developed and launched a quantitative, market-neutral hedged investment strategy for institutional investors. He began his career at State Street as a credit analyst, where he first learned to appreciate many of the fundamental financial concepts he would later implement through quantitative stock selection techniques. John received his B.S. and MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is also a CFA charterholder. FOUNDING PARTNERS John C. Bogle, Jr Keith D. Hartt Lisa A. LaFrance Britt S. Bardinelli Director of Research at Bogle. From 1993 to 1999 Keith worked for Fidelity Management and Research Company, lastly as a research analyst in the Quantitative Group. As an analyst he developed stock-picking models based on valuation, momentum, quality of earnings, and corporate actions, concentrating on the evolution of companies’ businesses as communicated through financial reports. He also worked on statistical techniques to avoid unnecessary macroeconomic risks, and developed a novel, effective portfolio re-balancing strategy for maximizing return net of costs. Other previous work at Fidelity includes style analysis, trading cost analysis and modeling, trade-portfolio design and optimization, and foreign program trading.
