Tony Penna has been in the construction industry for over 32 years and most of that time was dedicated to masonry and concrete specifically in south Orange County. He has worked with many different forming systems through out his career. Beginning in 1998, he was offered to take a training course in Arxx Insulated Concrete Forms. Now with Fox Blocks as our flagship product, ICF systems proved to be a great product that inspired Tony, his father and brother to become acclaimed distributors and technicians of ICF in southern California.

The Arxx High Performance Wallsystem consists of interlocking, lightweight, expanded polystyrene forms. Designed to be an integral part of the wall, the forms remain in place after the concrete is poured. The insulating capacity of expanded polystyrene coupled with the structural integrity of reinforced concrete is a powerful combination -- it makes Arxx walls stronger, safer, quiter and more energy efficient. Step 4: Footing dowels and vertical rebar do two different tasks, the footing dowels are a shear members and the vertical rebar is a tension member. Because of this, a lap splice is not critical and not required in many areas. If you are required to provide a non contact lap splice, create 2” tall rebar sleeves out of 1.5” PVC pipe with a skill saw. Before stacking the forms place the sleeves over the vertical dowels protruding from the footing or slab.
