Melissa Knopper has 15 years of experience as a metro daily news reporter, including a stint covering police for the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, as well as a master's degree in science writing from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She has written two books on medicine and the environment, taught several university journalism courses.
