He began his Chinese medicine career in 1998 with Shiatsu and then completed the four-year program at the Minnesota Institute of Acupuncture in 2000. More recently, he earned a massage therapy diploma in 2005 and today he seamlessly blends these therapies into unique healing sessions.Mats thoroughly enjoys working with new clients and strives to make the experience enjoyable. He is a nationally known and sought after specialist in the treatment of macular degeneration and other retinal diseases. Mats also enjoys working with athletes who, in turn, enjoy getting back in the game after his Athlete Repair Service sessions.In addition to his clinical time, Mats has been a board member and staff acupuncturist at the Aliveness Project, an instructor at CenterPoint massage school and he lectures frequently on the benefits of Chinese medicine. Mats is also the creator and co-star of The Pindoctor Show, an acupuncture sketch comedy series that aims to promote the profession by diffusing it ’s mysterious edge with humor.Outside of the clinic, Mats enjoys acting, skiing, cycling, duathlons and mountaineering. In January 2010 he climbed Antarctica's Mt. Vinson, his third of the Seven Summits.
