We are over 100 employees strong - most of our employees work in Greenville and live in and around our headquarters in Greenville, TX. However, we also embrace technology take advantage of today’s “virtual office” with some employees located in Georgia, California, and New Mexico, to name a few. We are located in Greenville, TX, where we own and operate our 72,000 square foot manufacturing and fabrication facility which also houses corporate administrative, sales, parts distribution and engineering offices. How we became The Henry Group; Of course, it started with construction The Henry Group has nearly 35 years of service and is one of the most recognized names in the bakery industry for equipment, installation and bakery construction services. Founded in 1976 by John Henry Sr. and Jerry Suggs, the company was first known as Henry & Suggs, Incorporated Prior to founding the company, John Henry Sr. was a General Superintendent for - The Schwartz Company (the Henry Family business in Dallas - now Henry Building and Engineering), and Jerry Suggs was a Masonry Superintendent with the Schwartz Company. The Schwartz Company was commissioned to build a new bakery facility in Paris, Texas for Campbell-Taggart (CT), a baking company in Dallas, TX. John and Jerry used this experience with the Paris Bakery Project to start a new venture. when an opportunity was recognized With building construction complete, the bakery sought a contractor to install equipment. As there were few groups specializing in bakery equipment installation at that time, John and Jerry began installing equipment at the plant. Ultimately they founded a Bakery Millwright Company Henry & Suggs for that explicit purpose. In their first five years as a company, Henry & Suggs crisscrossed the country on various projects for Campbell-Taggart. The opportunity helped them in establishing the business and learning the finer points of the baking business. we put down roots in Greenville, TX In 1981, Henry & Suggs planted permanent roots in Greenville, TX, by building a fabrication facility on the plot of land that the company still occupies. Our facility has expanded numerous times to accommodate our growing business. Through the years we’ve supplied fabricated items like stainless floor drains, proof box racks, conveyors, work platforms, catwalks, and overall general steel fabrication. Initially the facility produced mostly small fabrication projects to support our bakery installation crews. This regular work increased the skills and abilities of the fabrication and engineering disciplines in the company which has continued to improve and gain new competencies over the years.
