Description

is located on Route 30 (Adirondack Trail Scenic Highway), 6 miles south of the hamlet of Indian Lake, New York. The Inn is on a plateau near the base of Snowy Mountain (elv.3995) overlooking Indian Lake. Snowy Mountain is 5 feet short of being classified as a "High Peak" and is the highest mountain outside of the High Peaks Region. Geologists have discovered that Snowy Mt., as well as Squaw Mt. (across the road from the Inn), and Gore Mt. (across the lake), are the only other mountains with the same rock composition as Mt. Marcy, which is the tallest mountain in New York. (elv. 5344 ft.) Indian Lake is in the middle of the Adirondacks, with easy access to the High Peaks Region, Lake Placid, Old Forge, Lake George and Saratoga. We are centrally located within a short drive to major attractions and sporting events. There is always something to do, no matter what time of year you wish to visit. The Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake has been rated the finest of its kind in the world. Outlet shopping is less than an hour away and antiques are to be found just about anywhere you look. The area is known for pristine lakes with fine fishing, swimming and boating. There is also superb hiking, white water rafting, snowmobiling and skiing (downhill and cross- country). The
