The FAA will normally provide audio tapes of a controller position. This tape will contain the transmissions of all aircraft and coordination calls with other positions. The tape will also contain a digital time code, which when viewed on special equipment will provide the exact time of the transmission. Each control position has the capability to select numerous frequencies. The transcript of communication in most accident reports will only contain those transmissions between the controller and the accident aircraft.
