Description
The Aisling Irish Community Center, founded in 1996, is a community outreach center dedicated to assisting the Irish and Irish-American community in New York. We are a not-for-profit organization managed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by a dedicated staff that is available to answer your questions and assist with any problems. The aim of the Aisling Center is to assist immigrants in making their transition to life in America a positive experience. With this task at hand, it also deals with the issues of life as an immigrant adjusting to a new country, missing family and making new friends. The Center is a focus point for people to express feelings, seek help with employment, accommodation, advice on immigration and on services in New York. It is a drop in center where people can get information or take a variety of classes. Through our various courses and group meetings for mothers & toddlers, seniors, etc. it is an ideal opportunity for many people to meet up with others in similar circumstances for a chat and to network in the community. The doors are open to inspire community spirit and reach out to immigrants, to respond to physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. We are here for you. We hope you feel welcome, come to visit, and see for yourself what we are about. We always welcome suggestions and feedback from people who visit the center with a view to providing services and assistance to the people of the community, so please feel free to...
