America Fresh was founded by Brian Gardiner, whose passion is to deliver the freshest organic produce available from the best small-scale organic growers found locally. Brian Gardiner has been an organic grower for over 10 years, growing and delivering fresh, organic specialty produce to fine dining restaurants. Together with his wife Robin and similar-minded colleagues, Brian Gardiner founded America Fresh LLC to implement a Just-In-Time distribution system to deliver the freshest organic produce possible within local markets. In order to understand the problems of distributing produce, America Fresh LLC began distributing in January 1999, working with Stone Free Farms and Brian's own organic farm, and distributing to a few of the finest restaurants in the South Bay area of Northern California. Working with a manual system, we were able to document the requirements for an Internet-based virtual Farmers Market. These requirements have been implemented in conjunction with a skilled Applications Service Provider. This system is in the final stages of development.
