Description
Resources To succeed getting through the maze of government, to select the right path, you need an experienced Guide. The Group has working relations with key government resource 'gatekeepers', including: Government Resources Assets We Manage for You-With You: Communications & Research – Your public officials – to serve you better – need to know who you are, what you do, and why it is important. We can help you open up this communications. Annually, the results of billions of dollars of research are released. From this abundance of information, there may be specific items that affect you. We find these nuggets. Permissions & Permits – Trust between buyer and seller often is not enough. The public is demanding more protection from businesses from their governments. Getting permissions from government – local, state and federal – is essential. Permitting is conceptually simple: just read the rules, fill out the forms, then do what you say you will do. But in real-world applications, official permitting decisions are often subjective judgments, not findings of fact. A business applicant can waste their valuable time learning permitting the hard way. The Group members are experts in finding their way through the maze of governments. We are efficient at permitting, in a way that enhances the client’s standing in their community. Funding & Incentives – Government resources for businesses are rarely grants, but are market-enhancements: credit backstops, lower interest debt, or partial reimbursement for your risk investment. Some localities offer financial incentives, and these are difficult to compare “apples-to-apples” between jurisdictions. Contracts – Contracting to the government can be strategic. The government is a serial shopper, buying billions of dollars of goods and services directly, or through prime contractors. Government contracting is counter-cyclical, going up in times of recession. But government contracting has a unique and lengthy marketing cycle; it is not for everyone. Partnership Collaborations - Forget the “freebies”; no government funding or action is without a cost. There are always specific expectations from any government contract of the recipient. But as partners, governments are potential co-developers of assets, as they look to the private sector for private investment and a higher market- risk acceptance level. Private companies that understand government restrictions, processes and goals can find a steady flow of possible development deals and a partner that can open doors, and make things happen. The Current Economic Dynamics - The increased rate of change and spending in government programs currently is resulting in new rules and regulations, almost daily. But surprisingly, there are not many new programs, just higher budget levels, some rule modification, and much higher audit and accountability standards. Success will depend on two actions: First, staying current with government changes, and second, also knowing how the existing funding “pipelines” - from existing agencies – work best for you.
