Ed Polcer - trumpet Tom Fischer - clarinet, sax John Allred - trombone John Cocuzzi - vibraphone, piano, vocals Frank Tate - bass Joe Ascione - drums Ed Polcer has become one of the most sought after performers on the jazz festival circuit. He has appeared in hundreds of concerts, festivals and jazz parties throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Ed joined Benny Goodman's Sextet for an American tour in 1973. He has led U.S. tours for Columbia Artists in 1992, 1993 and 1994. “A Night At Eddie Condon's” took audience back to the famous nightclub with a retrospective of American jazz over the last 100 years. Since 1996, Ed's “Magic of Swing Street” has offered classic jazz in its many forms as it was played on New York's fabled West 52nd Street. The show has been performed at jazz festivals worldwide, including four appearances at New York's Lincoln Center. “Lionel, Red & Bunny” was a centennial celebration of legendary jazzmen Lionel Hampton, Red Norvo and Bunny Berigan. Comprising the Polcer sextet are: Ed Polcer, trumpet. He was voted the third most popular traditional jazz cornetist/trumpeter in the U.S. in a Mississippi Rag poll. Tom Fischer, clarinet and sax. He carries on the New Orleans clarinet tradition. He has performed everywhere from Preservation Hall to concert venues across the globe. John Allred, trombone. A third-generation New Orleans jazz musician, he has played with all the great jazz musicians. The hot and swinging rhythm section includes: John Cocuzzi, piano and vibes. Son of a U.S. Marine Band percussionist, he breathes new life into familiar tunes. He has played jazz worldwide. Frank Tate, bass. He played for years with Ed Polcer at Eddie Condon's club in New York City. He has toured with many jazz greats, including Benny Goodman, Teddy Wilson, Lionel Hampton, Pearl Bailey and Bobby Hackett. Joe Ascione, drums. He is considered by some critics to be the best drummer since Buddy Rich. He has performed with jazz greats and has been recorded on more than 100 CDs.
