Upon first sight, the location promises a unique experience: The quaint sidewalk display of delicate topiaries and miniature garden furniture immediately calls to mind an inviting Paris boutique. Once inside, the customer's eye is treated to an equally colorful array of merchandise for infants, newborns and toddlers that delightfully pair function and fashion. And though it has been said, the key to a successful business is location, location, location. In the case of Baby Sacks, it includes details, details, details!The "Collection" consists of twenty-two different, unique styles. Each design may be purchased individually, or as a complete "Layette" set. Select from over 250 different fabrics including; chenilles, vintage textiles and retro prints. This unique concept of being able to mix and match the individual tastes, colors and style of a family's interests is the inventive idea of company founder and designer, Paula Sacks. Before starting the company, Paula's talent and creative fashion ideas were recognized nationally by The Los Angeles Times, People Magazine and The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. However, it was the birth of Paula's own son that inspired her to create the Baby Sacks concept. Established in 1990, the company opened a New York showroom and within the first few years expanded into over 400 of the finest children's boutiques across the country.
