Hello, my name is Dave Damianakes. I have been writing for the Bay Area's high tech industry since 1994, specializing in end user materials. Because I focus on a low- and non-technical audience, I do not specialize on one technology or technical field. Thus, I bring few assumptions into my work, and my perspective stays fresh. This makes it easier to write to my audience. Among other subjects, I have worked with DVD, Architectural CAD, 3D Graphing, Oracle Implementations for Enterprise and Government, Handheld Devices, CMS, Semantics, Audio Testing, EDI, Two-factor Authentication/Security, Encryption, Health Care, On-line Marketing and Compliance and Standards. In each case, I knew nothing of the field, learned quickly, and did my work. Besides the San Francisco Bay Area, I have worked in Southern California, Texas, Brussels, and Paris. I've also collaborated with people from all over the world: Belgium, France, Japan, China, Taiwan, Australia, Israel, Norway. I have worked extensively with startup companies and understand the pressures and problems that come with getting that first and second version of a product out to the public. It takes commitment and, sometimes, long, long days. Over the years. I have developed a format of user guide aimed at making the job of being an end user as easy as possible. It is the result of working with customers, technical staff and (most importantly) end users. I have used it on many projects with great results because it makes understanding the concepts easy and using the procedures simple.
