KC Bobcat was founded in 1974. In 2000 Berry Companies, Inc. purchased the company. This company specializes in Bobcat skid-steer and track loaders and excavators. Berry Comopanies Inc.'s history dates to 1957 when Fred Berry, Jr. and his brother Paul purchased the Sam H. Denney Road Machinery Co. and renamed it Berry Tractor & Equipment Co. The Sam H. Denney Road Machinery Co. had been founded in 1928 to distribute road maintenance equipment. In 1962 the brothers acquired White Star Machinery & Supply Co., which had been founded in 1910. Since then six other companies have been founded or acquired.

Founded in 2002, SB manufactures the Superior Broom, a construction broom that is distributed by dealers throughout the United States, with some export sales. Employment in June 2013 was 24. Tom McBride is President.

Berry Companies, Inc. is headquartered in Wichita, KS in the White Star building. We are an administrative support group, which provides accounting, data processing, payroll, insurance, advertising, and financial services to each of its eight operating divisions. Each operating division is operated and managed independently. With the exception of SB Manufacturing, each is engaged in the distribution of construction or material handling equipment, which is purchased from manufacturers and sold or rented to contractors, governments, and industries.
