Description
Our Facility: We are nestled on 24 acres purchased in 1970 in Londonderry Township, south of Cochranville PA. Our bank barn has 23 matted stalls and three tie areas. There are additional tie areas outside the tack room and indoor arena. Our large heated tack room is attached to the indoor arena ( 40 x 90). We have three outdoor arenas; a dressage arena ( 90 x 225) with footing of sand and rubber , a schooling arena with sand ( 90 X 180 ), and a Stadium jumping arena with sand ( 135 x 235). In 2005 we added a 50 foot round pen built by Stoltzfus Fence Co. Our horses are turned out is small groups in our six fields. Sam and Darcy live on the property as well as Alyce ( Darcy's Mom) and Larry Denver. Our Training Philosophy: Sam Brown is our Trainer. He starts young horses under saddle, works with horses and ponies that have problems. He trains the owners as well as the horses. The main idea behind " Natural Horsemanship" is of course to be as natural as you can be. To be this way you need to first understand how a horse thinks. You need to in time discern the language of a horse. Every animal has a language. We are humans have a language. However the way we communicate and the way a horse communicates are about as opposite as you can get. Horses actually learn fairly quickly and fairly easily especially when you can their language. One of the best ways to begin to learn this is to observe a herd of horses. Watch the herd in action...
