The firm’s founding partners, Michael Brustein and Leigh Manasevit , have extensive experience in federal education and workforce law. From 1974 to 1979, Mr. Brustein served as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel, Education Division at the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Mr. Manasevit’s career began in 1974 as a trial lawyer in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Determining that there was an emerging need for States and school districts to have representation in matters dealing with the then newly formed U.S.

The most proactive approach to resolving federal education program compliance problems is to avoid their occurrence. To this end, the firm provides training seminars and workshops on the Higher Education Act statutes, regulations and programs. In addition, we provide technical assistance in the administrations and management of federal student aid programs and review policies and procedures for compliance. Ã? Our attorneys also provide legislative services to keep state educational agencies and post-secondary schools informed about important changes to the higher education community.
