CHDI, Inc. is the successor to the Cure Huntington's Disease Initiative, a program originally established by the Hereditary Disease Foundation (HDF) to accelerate the search for a cure to HD. In 2004, this program was spun-off from HDF and re-branded as CHDI, Inc. to more accurately reflect its mandate and funding as a private foundation, and to facilitate collaborative interactions with the broader biopharmaceutical sector. CHDI, Inc. established its operations in Los Angeles in 2005.
