Capitol Engineering Company was founded in Cambridge in 1937 by Clarence H. Chaisson, P.E. Clarence, MIT trained as a naval architect and marine engineer, started Capitol for the design and construction of air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. Clarence and Capitol specifically targeted providing air conditioning for the many movie theaters in the region.

SECO Kitchen Hoods and Ventilators Southern Equipment Company (SECO) has provided conveyors, ventilators, and UDS systems to the food service industry for over 60 years. Southern Equipment's leadership tradition is built on innovative product design, quality manufacturing practices and on-going customer service. Capitol Engineering is proud to be associated with SECO as we are their certified start up and service company for New England.

Capitol Engineering Company is committed to providing sustainable practices and designs to serve both our customers and the environment. All our technicians are trained and adhere to recommended and accepted EPA guidelines in the use and handling of refrigerants. We also have an on-staff LEED accredited professional to either lead or assist our customers in implementing LEED approved practices or in getting their building certified.
