CEPD was founded in 1972 and has been treating the mental health needs of people in the Philadelphia, Bucks County and Mercer County regions for the past thirty years. Our staff includes both male and female therapists, and each patient is carefully matched to the therapist style and orientation.

In addition to behavioral health training, we provide training on coping with stress, anxiety, depression, boredom and other everyday emotions through the use of cognitive techniques. These approaches teach the patient to manage and change attitudes and thought patterns to those that enhance coping and satisfaction.

We have licensed psychologists and licensed counselors with over thirty years experience in Assessments, coaching, and counseling individuals in college, career, and personal development.

We examine your metabolic rate. We also work with you in analyzing your eating habits and in modifying any unhealthy behaviors involving your weight. Together, we develop plans for a weight loss program. Such plans may involve working with a dietician and your doctor. (You may even be interested in examining surgical options if appropriate.) We also work with exercise professionals who will develop a medically safe program with you.

In addition to our regular weight programs, we provide a behavioral lifestyle weight management program designed for the new non-smoker who has weight concerns. The program includes an eating analysis, exercise and healthy lifestyles with consideration to the role smoking used to have in your life. Behavioral approaches and learning to manage stress and depression are included.
