It is with pride and warmth that I welcome prospective students and visitors to Chatham College. Building on a heritage of more than 130 years of educating undergraduate women, we ground each innovation on our historic strengths. Our community is freshly energized by recent initiatives -- increased offerings in our undergraduate programs, our flexible evening and weekend programs, and the College's competitive and highly-regarded co-educational graduate programs.A Chatham education is distinctive. Undergraduates augment the women's college advantage by utilizing city resources for internships and other hands-on opportunities as well as the Center for Women in Politics in Pennsylvania, and the campus-based Rachel Carson Institute, founded in 1989 to honor the legacy of biologist, writer and pioneering environmentalist Rachel Carson, Class of 1929. At the same time, Chatham Study Abroad allows students to explore the broader world community. And, programmatic linkages, shared majors, and cross registration with other colleges and universities further expands Chatham's exciting curriculum. Our linked undergraduate-to-graduate programs at Chatham and with neighboring institutions allow for a smooth transition from one level of degree attainment to the next.
