Providing clinical health care services is only part of the formula for giving economically disadvantaged children and families the opportunity to stay healthy. Children’s Health Fund also combines coordinated advocacy efforts with strategic academic-level research to provide a voice for America’s children.

In addition to our primary care clinics, we provide specialized mobile clinics focusing on dental services and mental and emotional health.

Children’s Health Fund has been a leader, not just in bringing high-quality health care to low-income communities, but in bridging that divide for over 25 years. In 1987, before most doctors’ offices or hospitals had even installed desktop computers in their offices, our very first mobile clinic in New York City carried an electronic health record system onboard as it visited homeless family shelters.

For over 25 years, Children’s Health Fund has been battling barriers to health care for homeless and other low-income children. Out of that fight has come innovative solutions. Our “Blue Bus,” a pediatric mobile medical clinic, draws children and families for curbside checkups and treatments. It may sound unorthodox. When necessary, it is.
